These slides were developed with Assoc. Prof. Tonia Gray (University of Western Sydney) for a presentation at the 2012 meeting of the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) and the Asia-Pacific Education Research Association (APERA).

This talk explored our experience in the Bringing the Learning Home (BTLH) project, especially the use of WordPress-based blogging as a tool for reflection with students as they studied overseas. We specifically discussed the use of photo-reflection and ‘photo language’ as reflective tools, as well as presenting the overarching BTLH curriculum which was being finalised at that time.

The published conference proceedings paper is the following:

  • 2012.   (With Tonia Gray) ‘Blogging with the Facebook Generation: Studying abroad with Gen Y.’ Joint meeting of the Australian Association for Research in Education and the Asia-Pacific Education Research Association (AARE-APERA), World Education Research Association Focal Meeting.
